Psychotherapy, Art Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, Meditation - Children & Adolecence
Growing up brings many changes and challenges. Children and adolescents can sometimes struggle to make sense of their feelings, navigate relationships, manage anxiety, or cope with changes at home, at school, and in the wider world. They may be experiencing differences, pain or illness. Having a safe, supportive space where they feel heard, understood, and accepted can make a meaningful difference.
My approach to child and adolescent psychotherapy is integrative, creative, and person-centered, shaped around each young person's individual needs, age, and stage of development. Drawing on psychotherapy, art psychotherapy, mindfulness, and meditation, I offer different ways for children and adolescents to explore their feelings, express themselves, and make sense of their experiences.
For younger children, creative expression, play, and art can offer a natural way to communicate feelings and experiences that may be difficult to put into words. For adolescents, therapy can provide space to explore identity, relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, emotional challenges, and the pressures of growing up.
Through conversation, creative exploration, and mindfulness-based practices, the aim is to build emotional awareness, confidence, resilience, and a greater understanding of oneself. Each young person is met with curiosity, compassion, and respect, at their own pace. No artistic experience is necessary.
Where appropriate, parents and caregivers can also be included in the therapeutic process, helping to support the young person's growth and wellbeing beyond the therapy space.
